![]() ![]() Exotic repeating light and heavy: i suppose that the time to reload a clip is reduced to a move equivalent action instead of a full round. Heavy crossbow + rapid reload= a move equivalent action instead of full round. Light crossbow + rapid reload= free action to reload ![]() Rapid reload lowers the time to reload a crossbow A repeating crossbow lets you shoot all your attacks in a round t'll the max ammo available in the clip. Exotic repeating crossbow: free action and/or full round -special conditions- (a repeating uses a clip of five bolts, reload is easy and free activating a lever, and changing an empty clip is a full round). Heavy crsossbow: a full round action to reload, the same rate of firing than light crossbow Light crossbow: a move equivalent action to reload (no rapid shot), only one shot per round always Now in the new rules, there are light repeating crossbow and heavy, which do the same damge than normal ones (1d8/1d10). So, you could buy rapid reload to not lose firepower (maintaining the 1d8/1d10) or buy exotic repeating crossbow for speed at the cost of reduced damage (just 1d6) With 3.00 edition, a light crossbow do 1d8, heavy 1d10, and repeating 1d6 (there wasn't light and heavy repeating, just one model for 1d6) Now that you mention it, with 3,5, there's isn't much sense in rapid reload. ![]()
